SSHG: SonohysterogramA saline sonohysterogram is the result of a sonography, or ultrasound, of your body’s uterus. The ultrasound images allow your doctor to identify causes of undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, the presence of fibroids or polyps. By essentially taking a picture of the inner lining (endometrium) and cavity (endometrial cavity) of the uterus, the sonohysterography can help determine causes of infertility and other reproductive complications. Originally designed to be used for adoptive mothers, supplemental nursing systems are oftentimes used in cases where the baby is unable to feed efficiently due to prematurity or other complications, requires heightened calorie intake or other supplemental nutrition, or the mother has insufficient or nonexistent lactation.
